Goverment Healthcare Reform

As you can see from the above article, there are many Americans who are opposed to this bill. My take on healthcare reform is that there should never be a person, especially a child who is denied healthcare coverage in this Country. Health insurance companies most definitely need to be more closely monitored because they have been abusing the system and their power for way too long. Healthcare should be more affordable to the American people, but not free. This leads me to the only portion of this bill that I can not agree with: the government-run public option. To me, this is a fast track to the government overtaking the entire system by putting independent health insurance companies out of business. If this happens, you can kiss the quality of your healthcare coverage goodbye, and I pray that nothing serious ever happens to you because it may be a long wait and a lot of hassle to get the care you are in need of. When has a government-run service EVER run smoothly and without hassle? What is your take?

  1. The Government can't run anything right ... if they took over our health care system we are all doomed. Universal healthcare is a cancer patient's death wish.

  2. I agree 100%. I watched a documentary on Canada's healthcare system, and for someone like a cancer patient, it was a nightmare. So where did these people go to seek out the best medical care? The United States! My question is why would we adopt a plan that other countries have already implemented and have failed at it?

    Thanks for your comments!
